Protect Your Team. Reduce Risk. Support Compliance.
Arc Flash Studies
Global Infrared’s Arc Flash Studies help identify potential hazards, determine required safety measures, and provide the information your team needs to work safely around energized equipment.
Key Benefits of Arc Flash Studies
Protect Your Personnel
Identify electrical hazards and define the safety measures needed to help protect employees, contractors, and maintenance teams.
Support NFPA 70E Compliance
Arc Flash Studies provide the documentation, labeling, and hazard information needed to support your electrical safety program.
Reduce Electrical Risk
Understanding where hazards exist allows your facility to take action before unsafe conditions lead to injuries, equipment damage, or operational downtime
Improve Maintenance Safety
Clear arc flash labels and hazard information help qualified workers understand equipment risks before performing service or maintenance.
Why Arc Flash Studies Matter
An arc flash event can happen in an instant and may result in serious injury, equipment damage, downtime, and costly disruption. Facilities with electrical panels, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, and distribution equipment need clear information about the hazards present in their systems.
An Arc Flash Study provides that information.
By analyzing your electrical system, we help determine potential incident energy levels, arc flash boundaries, and the proper safety requirements needed to protect personnel working on or near energized equipment.
Our Process
1. Site Assessment & Data Collection
Our team gathers the electrical system information needed to evaluate your facility, including equipment details, protective devices, transformers, panels, switchgear, and system configuration. We capture clear photos of equipment labels, nameplates, arc flash labels, breaker layouts, schedules, and other critical information. We document breaker ratings, AIC ratings, trip units, conductor sizes, number of sets, and copper or aluminum material.
2. Engineering Analysis
Using industry-recognized methods, we analyze your electrical system to determine arc flash hazards, incident energy levels, and required safety boundaries
3. Labeling & Reporting
We provide equipment labels and a detailed report outlining the results of the study, helping your team understand hazards, PPE requirements, and recommended next steps.
4. Panel Labeling
We don’t consider the job done until the labels are on your panels. Most firms deliver the report and take months to return, leaving facilities operating with outdated labels and exposed to compliance gaps.
We don’t work that way.
Once the study is finalized, our team returns within two weeks to remove outdated labels and install updated arc flash labels, closing that gap and ensuring your equipment reflects accurate hazard information as quickly as possible.
Stay Ahead of Electrical Hazards
Arc flash safety starts with knowing where the risks are. Global Infrared helps your facility identify hazards, protect personnel, and create a safer electrical maintenance environment.
